How not to: Make visitors click on ads
Posted On Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at at 9:59 PM by IshanGetting users to click on ads is a tough job. However, with a bit of common sense and intelligent work, you can get users to click on ads. Read on.
Wait for ’ targeted content ’
Place ads on your blog/site and forget. This approach is followed by most of publishers out there and these publishers most of the times, fall flat. They do not earn much from blog/site. The problem I am going to discuss is more common on blogs. You have to repeat a keyword to get targeted ads. However, on blogs without a specific topic, repeating a keyword can be difficult. So, think reverse, do not wait for ads. When you notice that one ad is appearing more on blog, write an interesting post about it. It will get you many clicks provided the ad stays there for some time and you have got some visitors.
Place ads in dark corners (of blog)
Ad placement is important factor in getting clicks. Place an ad down the page and be prepared to get no clicks. Place ads near the top, or near areas which are most viewed on a page.
Give ads a thick border
Giving ads a thick border is equivalent to typing out in title, " These are ads. Keep away " Ads should be well matched to your site. They should not appear as different add-ons.
OK, I have followed most of the ideas to draw visitors to my sites. They come...but do not click.
Just one little click on the adverts wouldn't take much time, and there has to be something there that would interest a visitor.
I have four blogs...be one of my visitors! (and leave a comment)
